Serious Business Advice for the Goal Oriented Owner
Posted (admin) on 10-01-2012

If you own a small business in the Bay Area, you’re in luck. San Francisco is about as entrepreneur-friendly as a city can get, but with the wealth of resources available, it can be hard to know what is worth your limited time. Here’s some serious advice for the goal-oriented entrepreneur who wants the highest return on investments of time.

Network, but do it strategically. Making the rounds of every event targeted to entrepreneurs can be a time sink. Attend only those events that will have someone in attendance who can further your business prospects and who you will have a real chance to meet.

Use every opportunity to build your brand. Think small, as well as big. Put a bumper sticker advertising your website on your car. Leave marketing material on the literature table in the doctor’s office and beauty salon. Don’t scoff at posting fliers, and if you can get relatives to wear t-shirts advertising your business, it certainly can’t hurt.

Establish your expertise in your business area. Experts are recognized leaders and are the first people contacted when the public needs information. Your expertise will result in free advertising for your business and ultimately help it grow.
